As different cultures converge, diversity breeds new human expressions, combining the familiar with the unfamiliar. From this new birth our experiences and the art we create become even richer. One such artist has fused this convergence into a stunning musical journey. Iranian born guitarist Aram Danesh has brought together some of the bay areas finest musicians to create a harmonious blend of Jazz, Hip Hop, Latin, and Reggae music in his latest release entitled The Spot. Aram was born in pre-revolutionary Iran but was forced to flee his native country without his family at a young age, during the overthrow of the Shah. He then spent his formative years in Germany and Switzerland where he became interested in the guitar. Early in his studies Aram became interested in a multitude of styles, which eventually led him into a deep exploration of jazz. He eventually reunited with his family and moved to America in 1984. He continued to pursue his musical interests and released his first jazz album, fever dreams in 1998. His local notoriety earned him the attention of both Carlos Santana and Ravi Coltrane each of who invited Aram to join them on stage at the Antibes jazz festival. For his current release Aram wanted to combine all the styles he grew up listening to and wrap them up in danceable upbeat grooves. He has done this seamlessly in this album entitled the spot.
